Lily's dance class!

This week at Lily's class they picked up their costumes for their recital!! She looks so cute in her outfit!! I can't wait to see how she does at the performance. There are also a couple of pictures of her participating in her class :)

Update:  Thanks to Ashlee, I have fixed the pitures on here.  Now you can actually see Lily participating in her class.  (she is the blond sitting to the right of the teacher :)  )

Enjoying the warm (hot) weather!

This past weekend the highs were in the 90s. I really can't believe it it so hot so soon. We decided it was time to get Lily's pool out. She loved getting to slide and splash in the water! Even Gracie had a great time playing fetch and laying out in the yard.

One more of my girls!

More sister love :)

San Diego Adventure, Day 2

The next morning we got up and headed to a breakfast place called The Broken Yolk Cafe. It was so yummy! Then we headed down to the beach. Seriously there are no better beaches than those around San Diego. There are such bad sea winds that most other beaches north are really cold, especially this time of year.

Lily got her fill of digging and destroying sand castles; then we made our way back home that afternoon.

Honestly this was one of the best and most relaxing trips we have taken as a family. There is something to say about just going with the flow and making decisions as you feel like it. It was the perfect last trip with just the 3 of us and I know Lily really enjoyed herself as well.

San Diego!

We have been wanting to take Lily to San Diego for a while. Well the other Friday night we decided we were going to go that weekend. So after being out at a friend's that evening, we came home and quickly packed. Then we got up very early to head to San Diego!!

We drove straight to Legoland! But even that was an adventure! A front had moved through recently, so the grapevine (road through the mountains) was covered in snow and it snowed on us. What a perfect description of where we live- it snowed on us as we drive to the beach ;). Thankfully the roads were clear, no problems there.

We got to Legoland right when the opened and Lily was so excited to be there. Below are some pictures of Lily on the rides with her daddy!!

We finished up at Legoland around 4:30 which I thought was pretty good, considering I was 36 weeks preggo! Then we headed to our hotel and then out to dinner! Then we went back to the hotel to go to bed early, we were going to the beach the next day!!

Easter activities

We had such a great Easter this year! We spent Friday getting Lily's 3 year pictures taken and we went ahead and had family pictures taken since they will be the last ones of just the 3 of us :). Saturday we hung around the house and did Lily's Easter egg hunt (I'll get pics of that up later). Then on Sunday we headed to church and then had brunch at our friend's house.

Later that evening we did our normal Easter crafts! First we made and decorated our bunny cake. Then we dyed eggs, which Lily really enjoyed this year. Finally we decorated foam bunnies. Lily really liked this activity. I'm really glad I got them for us to do.

Here are some pictures of our fun'

Stickers!

Lily found the perfect place to put all her stickers :)

No nap!?!

This is what happens when I try to let Lily go without a nap...

Lily and her Gracie!

I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but Lily hates having her picture taken. Usually she turns her head and screams no pictures or no cheese. The only exception to this is when she is around G. She grabs her and says "mommy cheese". So then I of course have to grab a camera to capture my girls. Here's hoping she's this way when Baby C arrives!

Feeding the fish in Paso!

On Sunday of Stephen's trip, we headed out to Paso Robles to show him the wine country. Lily and I mostly hung in the car watching movies and coloring, but at one of our favorite places they have a large coy pond. We went inside to escape some of the wind, when one of the workers asked if we wanted food to feed the fish! Lily was so excited. We headed out and she threw each piece of food individually to the fish. She really didn't want to leave, well have to remember the fish food the next time we got out there!!

Trip to LA!

At the end of March we headed down to LA to pick up Stephen and do a few touristy things.

Our first stop was the Santa Monica Pier. All we did was have lunch there, but it was fun to walk out over the water. It was even funnier that Lily refused to step on the cracks, thinking she'd fall in. Needless to say, it took us quite a while to get down and back on the pier!

Next we headed out to see the Hollywood sign. We went to Hollywood and Highland for one look, and then headed out to Mulholland dr to look at it from the Hollywood Bowl overlook. It was really foggy/smoggy that day, but it was still pretty.

Then we headed to one more place to look around and then went to our hotel. (Side note: David and I our new fans of Hotwire.com. Since we had to get a hotel downtown we figured we would give it a try. We stayed at the Westin Bonaventure for about half of what it costs to stay there!). That night the guys went to the Lakers game, and Lily and I hung out in the room and ordered room service!

The next day we headed up to Malibu so Lily could play at the beach. The California beaches are beautiful, but man are they chilly! There is so much wind off of the water! Butler couldn't have cared less. She had lots of fun destroying sand castles and loved getting in the large whole I dug :)

After that we headed back to Bako.

Build a Bear...or a Dog!?!

We decided to take a day trip down to Valencia to do some shopping. Once we were there we decided it would fun for Lily to make a Build a Bear with some of her birthday money.

Lily seemed excited, so we went in letting her puck whatever she wanted. We showed her all of the animals to choose from and she picked a puppy dog (of course it was the last one David showed her!)

She had lots of fun building it and really took her time placing her wish on the heart of the bear...you can see it on the picture below.

Thankfully we convinced her to not go with any clothing and she just picked out a nice collar.

It was such a relaxing day and I don't think we even took home much more than the dog, but that's ok!

3-year check up!

I'll post pictures from her party later, I'll have to get on the computer, so here's the next round from my phone.

Lily had her 3 year check up a few days after her birthday. I really couldn't believe how thorough they were. Here is a list of everything they did: blood pressure, hearing test, vision test, urine test, they took blood, a full look over , and a vaccine! I think that is everything!! She really was a trooper except for her shot. I swear this was the hardest one to date. She relived the pain of her shot all through our lunch afterwards and even attempted to limp around the cafe ;). Everything came back great so no worries right now. She's in the 80% for height and around 70% for weight (since she's so tall). And her bmi is less than 50%. So she is basically tall and skinny, no surprise here since she needs a 4 or 5 for pants but can still wear 18 month shorts!! Here are some great pictures of her in her gown...how funny is it that they make them wear gowns ;)

Birthday Hockey Game!!

Lily's 3rd birthday was a very fun day! We started the morning by heading down to Burbank to pick up Ashlee! Lily couldn't have been more excited to see her. Then we headed back to Bako to pick up some last minute things for her party.

That night we got tickets to the Bako Condors game! I really enjoy watching hockey live, so we thought we would introduce Ashlee to the game. It was a lot of fun. Not only did Lily get a skateboard deck for showing up, but she also got an official puck off the ice! She was so excited.

After the game we met up with some friends for some birthday ice cream...always a good treat! Then we headed home to get ready for her birthday party. I really can't believe our little girl is 3!!!
