At the end of January, David and I traveled to Bakersfield, CA to look at the area and houses. Since David had to work all week, we decided we would go exploring on Sunday. We decided to go to
Paso Robles, a city with about 150 wineries. (We thought this would be a fun area to go considering we were Lily-less for the week.) We picked out 3 wineries we wanted to go to, but we ended up going to 4 based off of a recomendation. I love wine, but I don't know a bunch about it, so this was so much fun, and we learned a lot. If you ever come out to visit us, this will be one of the places we will take you :)
1st winery- Tobin James

4th winery -Pear Valley (LOVED this place)
Since we had already travel about an hour and a half west of Bakersfield, we decided to keep going west and head to the coast. We were told by multiple people about an area on the coast where the elephant seals live. It was their mating/birthing season, so there would be lots of baby seals on the beach. It ended up being really close to the Hearst castle (somewhere we have heard lots about, but will have to go the next time we are out that way) near San Simeon. Here are some pictures from the beach.

there were thousands of them

so pretty
This was along the side of the road on our way back to Bakersfield.
It was so pretty, and you can see the Pacific in the distance
