Thanksgiving

As Christmas is only 4 days away, there is no better time to update about Thanksgiving :)

We has such a wonderful Thanksgiving spent with both of our families. We started off going over to David's parent's house to enjoy lunch with them. We had so much fun hanging out with them, and Lily enjoyed playing with her cousin.

Afterwards, we headed back to our house, where I had to finish up dinner. We had my parents, sister, grandparents and uncle over. It is the first time I have cooked Thanksgiving. We had such a good time, and it was a very relaxing evening. Lily had so much fun playing with her Great Uncle. She would pick out colors for him, and then tell him where he needed to color.

Well...let's see if I can get my blog up to date before Christmas...cross your fingers!

A Little Me Time

In my blog, I usually try and tell stories of fun things we have done, which focus mainly on Lily, but today I'm going to brag a bit on myself.

After seeing the amazing results of my parents and sister, I decided to join in the diet/lifestyle change they were a part of. I started my new eating lifestyle on October 18, and I am proud to say that I have lost 12.3 pounds since then. I am only 6.5 pounds away from my 4-6 month goal! I am in awe of how easy it has been, and how much better I feel about myself. I no longer dread getting dressed, and I actually feel like I look good. I probably am close to the weight I was when I got married, but unfortunately my body changed quite a bit with pregnancy...so I'm not quite the jean size I was back then. And the best part! I now weigh less than David!!!!

I couldn't have done any of this with out my amazing family. I am so proud of all of us!

My Little Artist

Lily loves to color! She would happily color all day long if she could. We have to hide the crayons and paper, otherwise that's all she would want to do. Needless to say, she loves it when we grab her jumbo pad and let her go to town!

Her new thing is having us color with her. She will grab a crayon, hand it to us, and then point to where she would like us to color. The other night David joined her on the floor, and I had to get some pictures because it was too cute to pass us.

He drew an aTm and she colored over it with her green crayon...I'm so proud!

LOVE this picture

No coloring here, but I couldn't pass up this picture! She thought it was so funny walking around with her foot in her bucket.

Happy Halloween!

We had so much fun this Halloween! Since Lily is still small and has no idea about trick or treating/candy, we decided to take her to a few festivals instead.

The first festival we took her to was one that was held in Ashlee's neighborhood. Lily had such a good time. They had snacks, games, and inflatables! I was amazed how well Lily played the games. She needed some assistance from her daddy on a few, but overall she played them all by herself. Below are some pictures of Lily enjoying herself.

She really enjoyed the Chick-fil-a nuggets

Picking out her prize!

She got them all in!

She had no idea this large cow was behind her :)

The next festival we went to was on the 31st. They also had games, but Lily loved the pony rides the best! Her eyes lit up after the pony started to walk. Then she refused to leave after her ride was done, so she rode it again. After we made another loop around the festival, she saw the ponies from across the parking lot and she took off running toward them! So she ended up riding the ponies 3 times! Thankfully they were only a dollar a piece. We had such a wonderful time, and Lily didn't end up with a bunch of candy she didn't need.
All dressed up! This time she wore the headband:)

fishing for ducks...she knew exactly what to do when they handed her the net

Lily's new chair

Lily received a new addition to her chair collection, a wooden rocker from Cracker Barrel. I swear this little girl has every type of chair imaginable, except maybe a recliner, and I wouldn't be surprised if she got one eventually.

Every time I have gone to visit my family in the past months, we seem to always go eat at Cracker Barrel. Ever since the first time we have visited Lily has been fascinated with their rocking chairs. She always runs over, finds the kid's chairs, climbs in, and starts to rock.

Each time we went I was hopeful they would have a natural wooden rocker. For those not familiar with their rockers they have four different types of chairs: a wooden version and a wicker version, each coming in natural stain and white. I wanted Lily to have a natural wooden one because I thought it would hold up the best, but they never seemed to have any in stock. So finally the last time we went in, my mom decided she would just order Lily a chair. It was originally purchased as a Christmas gift, but as soon as my mom got the call it was in, she brought it right over!

Lily LOVES her chair! She gets in it and watches Yo Gabba Gabba, Sesame Street, or whatever other show happens to be on. She even likes to put her stuffed owl in it and rock him.

Here are a couple of pictures from when Lily got her chair.

so excited!

Halloween Party!

Our church had a Halloween costume party last Saturday night. We had such a good time! They hired a deejay so we were able to do a bit of dancing as well. It was so nice to have an evening kid-free! Here are the best pictures of the evening!

I love how our antennae are sticking out!

Pump It Up!

Lily's cousin, Aubrey, had her 4th birthday party a couple of weekends ago. It was at a place called Pump It Up, where they have large rooms filled with inflatable jumpers, obstacle courses, and other fun giant inflatable toys. Lily had a blast! She ran around the entire time, which tired David and I out quite a bit. Since she is under 2 we had to accompany her on everything. Below are pictures of her having lots of fun.

Later in the day, Lily slid down all by herself and LOVED it!

and through the tunnel

We'll have to take her there again, but I think we may wait until she is old enough to go on her own :)

Yay for Fall!!

I can't believe it is already the middle of October. And I really can't believe that my baby girl is 19 months old...she is now closer to 2, which is scary.

We have been having so much fun in the cooler weather. We have gone to the park multiple times, and we try and go by the play grounds near Auntie Ashlee's house every time we go to visit her. She also wants to go outside every time we let Gracie out.

One thing she has really enjoyed is going to the pumpkin patches! We first went to one with Granny, when I went to get my hair done in Pearland. We stopped on the way back to my parents, so Lily could help Granny pick out some good ones. They had wagons so you could pull your pumpkins around. Lily enjoyed climbing in and out of the wagon, and loved getting pulled by Granny. And I must say, Lily is very good at choosing pumpkins.

The next pumpkin patch we visited was in the Woodlands at the church where I go to my MOPS class and bible study. They had a day set up with children's activities and you could take a pumpkin home. Lily had so much fun! First she went around and looked at all of the pumpkins. (and took on quite a few cute poses)

Next, she saw the jumpy castle from across the grass and took off running to it. She LOVED jumping around in here. I swear if she could have stayed in there all day she would have.

Finally it was time to pose for some pictures. She found herself a spot on the wood and posed for quite a few pictures. I was very glad she was in a good mood.

We then went on to do a few of the children's activities. Most were too advanced for her, but I let her decorate a bag. She loves coloring.

Lily had so much fun running around with Walker, and we even got a few cute pictures of the two of them together. Lily was really enjoying eating an apple slice while these pictures were taken.

One last picture with just Lily!

We need to go to one more pumpkin patch. Lily needs to help Auntie Ashlee pick out some pumpkins, and maybe we will get a couple for ourselves. I'm hoping to get a few pictures of Lily in her costume....here's hoping my little bee will cooperate!

Such a ham!

Here is another video of Lily making herself dizzy. The best part of this one is where she sees the camera and smiles for me. She is so crazy!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Lily has found a new, funny way to entertain herself....spinning in circle and making herself dizzy. The best part is that she says "Weee" the whole time. Thankfully I got this on video for everyone to enjoy.
