Nothing better...

Every morning when I walk in to Lily's room, she asks me where daddy is. Most days I have to tell her that he is at work, where she usually responds with a very sad "daddy at work". So I love the weekends when I can tell her, "daddy's at home". She always gets very excited and says "daddy at home...yay daddy at home...yay daddy!" and runs out of her room looking for him. She is usually such a busy bee, but when her daddy is at home, things are a bit different. She loves cuddling on the couch and watching tv with him. These are a couple of pictures from memorial day weekend.

They are just the sweetest thing together. I'm so glad they already have such a special bond.

Fun with a Sharpie

Lily was having a great evening playing with Gracie. We heard it get quiet, which is always a sign something bad is going on. David and I went to check on her, and we found her under the bed with Gracie. We thought she was just hanging out with her, until I took a picture of them and I saw she had a marker in her hand! She did a very nice job of decorating her arms with a few extra touches on her face and feet/ankles!

Thankfully her bath took most of it off, and she wasn't striped for the next few days.

First Black Eye

Here's the story behind the black eye:

Lily was in bed playing. Instead of climbing out of the opening to her toddler bed, she decided it would be more fun to climb over the side that is up against the wall. The space between the wall and the bed is barely big enough for Lily to walk through, so there is even less room at the top of the railing. I looked at the video monitor just in time to see her hit her face on the railing as she slid out of bed. She started crying and screaming, but as soon as I brought her into our bedroom to show David, she pointed at the tv and said "mickey" and the tears vanished. Thankfully it wasn't worse, but the crazy kid had a nice shiner for a couple of days.

Shoes Required.

David told Lily she wasn't allowed outside unless she wore shoes. (she likes to play in the mulch) I guess she is just following orders ;)

I love summer dresses!

I love warm weather! And I love how Lily can now start wearing cute dresses and shorts and show off her cute little legs! Lily received the two dresses below from her Great Mammy and her Great Boompa for Easter. Since it was a bit cold out here, she finally got to wear them the last 2 Sundays to church! Look how cute she is!

First Time to the Beach

On Sunday, we decided to head to the beach. Even though we were pretty close to the beach in TX, we never took Lily, so this was her first time to the beach. I'm really happy her first beach experience was the Pacific, because it is so pretty!

Now before we get to the pictures... I know we are at the beach and wearing jeans and long sleeves, but it was seriously cold outside. I think the high was around 55 or so.

As soon as we got to Pismo, we grabbed a bite to eat. Then we headed out to the beach.

Lily and David playing in the sand.

Love this one :)

LOVE THIS ONE!!! So sweet!

Lily's first step into the Pacific

Coming back to tell me about it Then Lily thought it would be really fun to rub sand all over her face! crazy kid. She loved it!

Then her feet were given a sand scrub.

Erin, Lily and I at the water

I love this family picture.

Erin and me!

Beautiful view as we were driving home

LA!!

Last week, Erin came out to visit. I was so excited! She flew into LAX, so after we picked her up we showed her around the city. While driving to Rodeo Dr., we passed the Beverly Hills hotel.
Then we headed to Hollywood and Highland, to see the Hollywood sign....here it is...

Here's David and Lily in front of the sign.

And Erin and me.

Next, we went to go eat, but there was a little wait at Hard Rock, so we headed over to Grauman's Chinese Theatre to look at the signatures and hand prints.

Lily really enjoyed Bob Hope's hand prints.

Our last stop was a bakery that has the best cream puffs ever! We all really enjoyed them.

We had a good time in LA. It is such a neat place to visit, but it is so chaotic, I can only take it in small doses. It was a great day 1 of Erin's visit.
