Bath Time!

The other night, David and I were getting Lily ready for her bath in her room upstairs. I had turned the water on so it could warm up. Lily started crawling towards the door of her room. After she passed through the doorway, I was afraid she was going to go to the stairs, instead she took a sharp left. I guess she could hear the water running and was very excited to get there. She crawled the entire length of the play room to the bathroom.

This has happened every time since. So we decided to take a video of it for everyone to see. She has gotten so speedy!

Play Time

I love that Lily is at the age where she can play by herself. It is so interesting to watch her and see how she interacts with her toys. We have so much fun during the day playing on the floor.

She also loves getting news and interesting toys. Granny got her a new Yo Gabba Gabba toy and Lily loves it. It sings the songs from her favorite show, AND it has two of the characters she can play with. We have learned through this toy that she is very destructive. David likes to build up towers with the blocks, and she comes in and knocks them down!

Below are some pictures of her playing with Brobee and her new toy. They are also of her crawling to me. She loves to climb up us right now, so she can get to her feet. You can tell by the last picture, she gets some very determined looks on her face :)

Quite the jumper!

Lily loves her exersaucer, and she has learned how to jump in it. She thinks it is so much fun! Here is a video of her having a fantastic time in her saucer.

Another Video

Here is another old video I wanted to share with everyone! Lily loves it when David makes this scream-type noise at her. She thinks it is the funniest thing. Here is some footage of her laughing at him.

Adventures at Incredible Pizza...

Today we went to Incredible Pizza for Aubrey's 3rd birthday party. It was quite a day. We were a bit late to the party because Lily was taking her nap, so I brought some food with us in case she got hungry. As we were eating, Lily got a bit fussy, so I decide to feed her some bananas.

After Aubrey opened presents, we went to play in the toddler area. Lily had a fun time crawling on the floor and going into the tunnels.

After Lily got tired of crawling, David and I decided to go play some games. We took her with us since she was having a good time watching all of the lights on the games. Well she had a bit of an accident. Let's just say the bananas went a flyin'. Luckily most of them hit the floor and not David :) I had to go get someone to clean up the mess. We took Lily back and changed her outfit, and made sure she was feeling ok. She was back to her normal self. I think it was just a bit too much stimulation. As we went back to go play some games, we noticed what a large mess a small person can make. We decided we should document Lily's first public projectile.

Overall, the day was good, and we got Lily some toys with our tickets. And Gracie ended up with a new stuffed penguin toy from the goodie bag.

Happy Fall!

So after I finished my last post, I decided we should try and take some pictures of the girls with their pumpkins. It was a success! David can always get them to pose just right. Hopefully we can get this recreated with a winter theme for Christmas cards. I LOVE the last picture...it is my favorite I have of the two of them.

Pumpkin Patch

On Friday night we ventured out to the Pumpkin patch. It was a perfect, chilly fall evening. Lily was very well behaved and seemed to be enjoying herself sitting on the grass surrounded by pumpkins. She did get a bit irritated after we changed her into her kitty costume, but we still got some good pictures. She ended up getting another mini pumpkin to go with the tiny pumpkin she got at the zoo. We also got the family a large pumpkin to go with the cute decorative pumpkin Lily's Great-Mammy gave her :) We will take some additional pictures at home with Lily and her pumpkins...hopefully Gracie will make an appearance as well.

I can't wait until next year when Lily can pick out her own pumpkin! We also got a recommendation of a fun place where we should go. Below are some of the pictures of Lily in the patch!

Our play group

Every Thursday Lily and I get together with Tammie, Audrey, Deana, and Walker for a play group. I am so thankful for our group, as it gives me time to talk with other new moms, and it gives Lily a chance to interact with other children her age.

It's crazy to think how much things have changed with our little "bugs" since we first met at The Little Gym back in July. Lily couldn't even sit up by herself and now she can crawl and pull up on things...crazy how fast they grow. Before we know it they will be walking and talking!

I am so glad we decided to have a play group instead of going to the Little Gym. I had fun at the LG, but I feel like the kids are getting so much more socialization now, and so are the adults :) I am looking forward to our kids growing and learning together.

Here are some pictures of Audrey and Lily from today. And yes, Audrey is biting Lily on the knee :)

My Favorite Video

This is by far my favorite video we have of Lily. This was when she started becoming vocal. My favorite part is around the 2:45 mark after David says "hi boo boo" to her. Once again...sorry it is a long video.

Silly Girls

I love my girls! I never thought that I would enjoy being a stay at home mom so much! Every day I experience something new and funny from each of my girls, Lily AND Gracie.
This morning Lily was crawling around on the floor in her pjs. The snap in between her legs unsnapped, thus resulting in a hole in her pants. These are the results.

Here are some pictures of Gracie. She decided to take the throw blanket off my bed and use it to snuggle with. I just love her!! (side note: no baby toys were harmed during the taking of these pictures)

Finally, these last pictures are completely my fault. Poor Lily...I got her all dressed for her play group and brought her downstairs. When I placed her on the floor I notice I had accidentally tucked her pjs into her bloomers! Thank goodness we were only at home, not out in public...could have been so embarrassing! Enjoy my little slip up :)

First scoot!

Lily started crawling on September 25th! It was perfect! David was home for lunch so he got to experience the big event first hand. We captured the moment on video, so I thought this would be one of the previous events in Lily's life that needed to be added to the blog. sorry the video is a bit long, she got distracted at the beginning of it, and gives a big smile to her daddy :)

Nap Time

So while I was working on the blog, I put Lily into her exersaucer since she was not happy playing on the floor. She spent some time squealing at her favorite little green toy and messing around with the other toys that hang from it.

I was working on the computer and then I noticed it had gotten quiet. When I looked up this is what I saw...

She had fallen asleep! I couldn't believe it. She has never fallen asleep in an unusual position. After I took some pictures, I moved her into her swing to finish out her nap. She was so tired, she didn't wake up when I moved her. Here are some other pictures of her sleeping.

Zoo Boo Fun!

This past weekend weekend we decided to take Lily to the Houston Zoo for an event they call Zoo Boo! This is an event where they have the zoo Halloween themed, and they have special Halloween events for the children. They also encourage children to come in costumes. We thought this would be a fun thing to take Lily to, since we aren't doing anything for Halloween.

I have to say Lily didn't notice most of the animals. One reason was because they were so far away. The second reason...most of the animals were asleep! Seriously the lions, tigers, and orangutans were all asleep. The bears were hiding in the trench right below the railing, and we were not going to hold her over the edge so she could see them. She enjoy the elephants and giraffes, and her favorite by far was the sea lions. I think it had to do with them splashing around. She also liked the reptile house, but I'm going to pretend that didn't happen. We aren't going to have snakes, and other things like that in the house!

It was a successful outing. She happily wore her costume the whole time, and she didn't get fussy until it was time to leave (which happened to be nap time.) Below are some pictures of her first zoo experience.

Hello blog world...

Hello all...

I wanted to have a place to post pictures and updates on our family especially for those who don't have a facebook account. I will try and keep this updated as much as possible. This is my first time blogging, so i can't promise that this will be the most entertaining thing you read, BUT it will have pictures of the CUTEST baby! (that should make up for my lack of cleverness) I will try and go back and cover some exciting events that have happened in the last 7 months of Lily's life and share some cute videos we have as well.
